May 2012 Newsletter
Last Day of School. The last day of school has been changed to Friday, May 18. Have a great summer!
Field Trips. Field trips have been scheduled for students in K - 6th grades. They are as follows: Wednesday, May 2 - 5th & 6th Grade; Monday, May 7 - 1st - 4th Grades; Friday, May 11 - Kdg. Information regarding the field trips will be sent home with students.
Flat 3rd Graders. The 3rd grade class has mailed themselves to family and friends. Upon return to school, displays of the "Flat" 3rd graders and pictures and information about their adventures will be displayed in the elementary hallways.
K-6th Spring Program & Art Show. The Spring Program and Art Show will be held together on Thursday, May 17. The program will start at 7:00 PM.
CHS Spring Concert. The CHS Spring Concert will be held on Friday, May 11, at 7:00 PM.
Graduation will be held on Sunday, May 20, at 2:00 P.M.
Jr. High Promotion & Awards will be held on Monday, May 21, at 7:00 P.M.
PTO. A thank you to all that particpated in the Family Fun Night and Book Fair. It was a very enjoyable evening. Remember to continue to save boxtops and Campbell labels through the summer.
Active Healthy Self Camp. Forms have been sent home with students on this summer activity. Registration forms are due by to school by May 16.
PeeWee Football Camp. Information was sent home about the PeeWee Football Camp sponsored by the Herington Rec. Forms are due back May 4.
Swimming Lessons. Forms for Heringtron Swimming Lessons will be sent home with students. Swimming lessons at Herington will be July 9 - 19. If you have questions, please call Lisa Beye or the Herington Swimming Pool at 785-258-2360.
Inclement Weather. In case of an early dismissal, the school will use the AlertNow notification system. Please make sure your current phone number is on file with the school. NOTE: Does your child know what to do if he or she arrives home and no one is there. Closing information will also be called into radio and TV stations.
PLEASE NOTE. Parents are asked to keep children with fever, etc. at home. With your help we will be able to keep illness and loss of class time to a minimum. If you would like to donate some Clorox wipes to your child's classroom, it would be greatly appreciated.
Remember good hand washing habits.
HEAD LICE. With the cold weather, please remind your child not to be sharing hats or scarves. Please take some time and check your child's hair on a regular basis. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
CENTRE PTO. Remember to save your "Boxtops" and Campbell Soup lables.
