
Just a reminder that the rescheduled High School Basketball games against Rural Vista will take place Monday, February 5th and will begin at 5:00 with boys J.V. Also, the make-up games with Wakefield have been scheduled for Thursday, February 15 with games starting at 5:00.

Public Speaking Results!
We had 3 FFA Members travel to Buhler to compete our district public speaking contest. Our members wrote speeches over agricultural topics of their choice and then present their topic to a room of judges. We also had one member compete in Extemporaneous Division where they drew a topic and then had 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech about the topic and then answer questions over the topic. The results are as follows:
Sophomore Division:
Addison Bina: 4th Place Individual!
Junior Division:
Jimena Sanchez Gomez: 7th Place Individual!
Kaitlynn Bina: 1st Place Individual!
Extemporaneous Division:
Kaitlynn Bina: 6th Place Individual!

There will be 2-3 financial aid reps from Butler Community College to assist parent(s)/student(s) in completing the FAFSA. Congratulations to the Centre High School Scholar Bowl Team on capturing the Wheat State League Championship today hosted by Goessel High School. Team members Left to Right are Johnathon Garr, Kaitlynn Bina, Isabel Rziha, Karsen Kroupa, Anna Godinez-Vinduska, and Grayson Best. The team is coached by Angela Basore and Tana Riffel. Reminder to those who have signed their child up to participate in the Cougar Mini Cheer clinic. Tomorrow, January 26th, 2024 will be our first cheer clinic practice. This will be held directly after school from 3:45 to 4:30. All participants will meet in the small gym. Transportation from the school will not be provided after the practice. Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay for the practice. If parents/guardians are unable to attend practice, please arrive by 4:20 as we will dismiss at 4:30. Because of the forecast for more freezing rain and fog overnight, and our road conditions continuing to deteriorate, Centre will have a two-hour delay again tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24th. Classes will begin at 10:00. I apologize for the hardships these delays may be causing parents, but our drivers must be able to see what is ahead of them. past their headlights. We have decided to move the Junior High Basketball Games up to 4 P.M. on Monday, January 22. The new schedule is as follows:
4:00 A girls main gym
4:00 B boys new gym
5:00 A boys main gym
5:00 B girls new gym (half)

Congratulations to the Elyria Girls and Boys basketball teams on winning the championship at the Centre Cougar Classic. Special thanks to Centre AD's Tim Vinduska and Kelly Steiner for running a great tournament and to all the workers who help make the Cougar Classic a top-notch event.
