Just a reminder that the Centre Parent Teacher organization will be sponsoring a back-to-school carnival tonight from 6-8 at the school. The six to nine time on the flyer is incorrect so please note the actual time is from six to eight this evening. They will be serving a free hot dog meal, cotton candy, and snow cones. "Centre FFA invites all members, alumni and guests to our annual FFA Alumni Softball game on Sunday, August 20th at the Tampa ball diamonds at 5:00 pm. There will be a potluck meal so bring a side or dessert to share, the chapter will provide hamburgers. We will also have a parent and chapter meeting that evening to kick off the school year. It will be a fun time and we hope to see you there!"
Good afternoon Centre parents and guardians. This is a reminder that Centre Schools will hold an open house tonight from 5-7 pm . Students are welcome to bring in their school supplies and put them in their desks or lockers. JR/SR High students may also bring items to decorate their lockers. Parents and guardians are encouraged to come and meet your student's teachers.

The office staff at Centre will be available to help you with enrollment today until 6:00 PM and then Wednesday thru Thursday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. We have computers set up in our library for your convenience. Please remember to get your students enrolled online before the first day of school. If you have a preschool student, we ask that you stop by this week to get them enrolled and provide us with the requested paper documents (birth cert., immunizations, health assessment, and social security number) School fees are due on or before the first day of school. If you need help figuring your fees, please call the school office at 785-983-4321 or stop by Wednesday thru Friday. We are currently not set up to take credit cards, so payments must be made in cash or check. Please put your meal payment on a separate check from your fee payment.
Schedules for JH and HS students have been updated in Skyward. If you are missing a class, besides 5th hour, please email, call, or come in to see Mrs. McMichael or Mr. Siebert this week to get your schedule finalized.
Fall sports practices will start on August 14. Sports physicals must be completed and turned into the office before the student is allowed to practice.

JH Volleyball: 4:00 in Main Gym
HS Cheer: 6:00 pm on Monday.
HS Cross Country: 4:00 at the school.
JH and HS Football: 4:00 at practice field.
JH and HS football will have equipment check out on Friday, August 11 at 6:00 p.m.

Another proud day to be a Centre Cougar. This morning we had over 25 faculty, staff, and students show up to help serve the dinner after the funeral of longtime. teacher and coach Stan Wiles. Thank you so much for helping feed the large crowd in attendance.

The Centre family was saddened to hear of the passing of long time teacher/coach Stan Wiles earlier this week. Stan taught and coached at Centre for 28 years before retiring in 2009. We were honored to learn he wanted his funeral service to be held at Centre. His visitation and viewing will be this Saturday morning from 9-10:30 at the Centre football field with his funeral being held at 10:30. Stan was well loved and respected so we are expecting between 500-600 people to join in his celebration of life. Parking is going to be a challenge but thanks to the efforts of Richard Idleman and IServe, we have a plan to get everyone parked. To help us transport people from the parking areas to the east bleachers of the football field, we would like to ask if anyone has a golf cart that seats more than two people or a UTV that we could use Saturday morning, we would appreciate you letting us use it. We would like to have them Friday afternoon and we will house them inside to keep them safe. Please contact the Central Office at 785-983-4304 if you are willing to loan us the use of your vehicle.
