Southwest Power Pool Upgrades
Energy Emergency Alert to a Level 3
Southwest Power Pool (SPP) has upgraded the Energy Emergency Alert to a Level 3.
The Level 3 declaration requires the SPP to direct its member companies to prepare to implement controlled interruptions of service if necessary.
Flint Hills REC has been notified that we will experience controlled service interruptions. Currently, we do not know the length or frequency of these interruptions.
Flint Hills REC is asking their members to conserve energy wherever possible and safe to do so to prevent worsening system conditions that could impact a broader area or have longer-lasting effects.
Flint Hills REC will communicate more information as it becomes available via email and our Facebook page.
Please see the image below for ideas on how you can help during this Energy Emergency.

Centre School will be switching to the remote learning model on Monday, February 15th, and Tuesday, February 16th. This is due to the anticipated severe weather conditions that will be impacted by ice, snow, and extremely low temperatures. Students are being sent home today with their computers, ipads, and any materials that they will need for those two days of remote learning. Teachers have provided students with zoom links to their classes. Students are expected to remote into their classes on time, as these will be counted as two regular school days even though they are at home. Please stay warm, stay, safe, and use extreme caution in the anticipated severe weather. Please watch for additional information we will send out concerning the date next week when students may return to the school building.
