Because of dangerous road conditions again this morning, Centre will not have school today. Most of our east, west roads have blown shut overnight. We will make a decision on the Cougar Classic later this morning. Please stay safe.

Parents as Teachers is offering a SING and SWIM class on Friday mornings from 10:00 – 11:00am… see the flyer for dates!
· The first 20-30 minutes will be in the basement of the Marion Sports Aquatic Center’s “Wrestling Room.” During this time, parents and children will be moving and grooving together with songs, dances, nursery rhymes and instruments!
· The second half of the class will be in the Pool working with Director, Kristine Meyerson, on aquatic readiness skills for babies and toddlers.
· This class is designed for children ages Birth – 5 years of age
· Parents will be expected to participate with their child in both sections of the class!
· Class sizes will be limited

Centre School will run on the regular schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17th. If you do not feel it is safe for your child to attend school tomorrow, please call the school and we will excuse them, but be sure to call the office first thing in the morning. There are still roads that our buses cannot get down, but our drivers should be calling those families. Above all, please be safe.

The Cougar Classic games on Tuesday is postponed to Thursday. Due to this postponement the JH Games on Thursday tentatively will move up.

Because of dangerous weather conditions forecast for tomorrow, the celebration of life for Michelle Brasch has been postponed until Saturday, January 27th at 1:00 PM at Centre School.

Once again the road conditions in the Centre School District have not improved enough to allow for safe passage for our buses and students to travel. With the wind chill expected to be less than a minus 10 degrees, that adds to the danger. I appreciate the work our county crews have been doing trying to get our roads safe, but they haven't been able to keep up. No school tomorrow, Friday, January 12th for USD 397 and all activities are canceled as well.
Due to dangerous road conditions in our district, Centre USD # 397 will not have school on Thursday, January 11th. I am sorry for any inconvenience these days off may be causing, but I do not feel the county roads are safe for our buses, students, and staff to travel. Please be safe.
