Southwest Power Pool Upgrades Energy Emergency Alert to a Level 3 Southwest Power Pool (SPP) has upgraded the Energy Emergency Alert to a Level 3. The Level 3 declaration requires the SPP to direct its member companies to prepare to implement controlled interruptions of service if necessary. Flint Hills REC has been notified that we will experience controlled service interruptions. Currently, we do not know the length or frequency of these interruptions. Flint Hills REC is asking their members to conserve energy wherever possible and safe to do so to prevent worsening system conditions that could impact a broader area or have longer-lasting effects. Flint Hills REC will communicate more information as it becomes available via email and our Facebook page. Please see the image below for ideas on how you can help during this Energy Emergency.
