Congratulations to Centre's Katie Bina on qualifying for the State Track Meet next weekend in the 800 and the 1600 meter runs. Katie is one of three Centre athletes who qualified for state competition this year in three different categories, diving, golf, and track. Gotta be awfully proud to be a Centre Cougar!!
Congratulations to the Centre Class of 2023 on your graduation this afternoon. This year, 9 seniors and 11 students from the Kansas Online Learning Program were awarded their diplomas. We also want to congratulate the 52 students who did not attend graduation today that also graduated from the Kansas Online Learning Program at Centre. God has given you all a gift, what you do with it is how you pay Him back.
Centre's Olivia Carlson finished 5th in the KSHSAA State Diving Championships held last Thursday and today in Topeka. Olivia competed in the 1-5A division as the only 1A diver in the competition. Olivia moved up from 6th place in the preliminaries to capture the 5th place medal. All other competitors attend 5A schools in Kansas. Congratulations Olivia on a terrific performance!

UPDATE ON STATE DIVING: Olivia is currently in 6th place and will dive again Saturday at 4:30 with her best three dives left to perform. Keep up the good work Olivia and good luck Saturday!
Congratulations to Centre's Anthony Potocnik for placing 18th at the regional golf tournament held in Centralia last week and qualifying for State Golf being held May 22-23 at the Emporia Country Club. Good Luck next week at State Anthony!
Good luck to Centre's Olivia Carlson as she heads to the State Diving Championship today and Saturday in Topeka. Olivia is ranked among the top ten divers in classes 1-5 in the State of Kansas.
The last day of school for Centre USD 397 will be Tuesday, May 23rd. Students will be released at 12:30 and buses will run at that time. Thank you.
I need everyone to go to their closet and get your Centre T-Shirt out and lay it on the bed so you don't forget to wear it tomorrow for our faculty and staff picture at 3:30 in the gym so we can include the bus drivers. Bring your classes along and they can sit in the opposite stands in the gym. Jeans will be fine for the rest of the year if you would like! Let's finish strong!!
Special Board Meeting, May 18, 2023
Good evening. This is just a reminder that Centre Elementary will be having field day tomorrow, Friday, May 12th. Record Breaking activity will begin at 12:30 for 4th & 5th-grade students with P-3 beginning field day at 1:00. All activities will take place on the North side of the building on the track and football field. We will let you know if we get rain tonight if we need to postpone.

Centre Parents, we are sending the buses on the routes at this time and sending students home. Also, the FFA banquet scheduled for this evening has been postponed until tomorrow night at 6:30. Once again, FFA banquet will be Wednesday, May 10th, at 6:30.
At the present time, we are still holding students at the school until we feel the weather is safe for the bus routes. If you would like to come get your student that is fine or if you want your high school students to drive home, please call the school at 785-983-4321. I will send another message when we release the buses. Thank you.
