Parents and Guardians,
- If students have medication such as epi-pens or inhalers that they use at school, they must have a "permission to self-administration of medication" form filled out and signed by their primary physician. It has to be on file in the office.
- We need to know all allergies that a student might have, including food!
- If students are taking prescription meds or even over the counter at school, they must have paperwork filled out and on file in the office. Doctors have to sign the prescription meds. (we have students who may still take prescription meds but don't have them in the office)
Thank you for your cooperation.

Good Luck to our Cougars who start matches, meets, and games this week! Here are the events this week.

Somewhere out there,
there's a Para,
a Teacher's Aide,
a Para-Educator,
a Para-Professional.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para wiping a nose.
A Para wiping tears.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para pushing a wheelchair around 3rd base.
A Para cheering and yelling, "go straight."
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para repeating a math problem,
a Para sharpening a pencil,
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para showing a student how to go through the lunch line,
and how to make new friends.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para teaching a student the box step, so he can ask a girl to dance.
A Para reminding students to be kind.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para teaching a student how to tie their shoes,
or change their clothes.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para repeating a zoom lesson.
A Para cleaning a classroom.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
there's a Para making games out of homework.
A Para stiking clever deals to see progress.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
There's a Para lying awake at night.
A Para anxious about a new day.
All for the love of a child.
Somewhere out there,
There's you.
A Teacher's Aide.
A Para-Educator.
A Para-Professional.
The backbone.
The silent force that move quickly and quietly through the school.
THIS IS MY SHOUT OUT TO YOU!!!!
You are forgotten by many,
But most importantly,
a HERO to some.
For those who are,
or who ever have been,
A PARA.
I know you do this each and everyday,
all for the love of a child.

Here are the events for this week! Just a reminder that the Jamboree has changed to Tescott at 6:30 PM on Friday August 26. Also attached are the rules of the Jamboree.

We had a great first day of school today and I want to thank the students, teachers, and staff for working so well together to make it great. I would guess I have some parents concerned about bus routes and I would like to ask for patience while we work out the kinks. Four out of five of our bus drivers are new this year and we will review the routes tomorrow morning after the morning routes to see if we can make adjustments to them so the students don't have to get on so early and be on the bus so long. I'm looking forward to a tremendous year.

Calling ALL CHS/CJH Students and Staff: We want you to "BE THERE" to help us celebrate that start of a great school year! Questions - Ask Mr. Remy or Mrs. Kroupa (Sponsored by CHS Student Council)

August 18, 2022 Special Board Meeting

Junior High and High School students and their families are invited to attend Student Council's back to school kickoff night! It is this Friday (the 19th) evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM out at the basketball court north of the school and south of the football field. Food, games, and fun will be provided!

Don't forget Open House at Centre Schools Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm. Have your students bring their school supplies and meet their teachers. JH/HS students will be using lockers this year so they are welcome to decorate them tomorrow night as well. We hope to see you all at Centre Schools Wednesday from 5-7!

Just another reminder to get your students enrolled as soon as possible. We are in the process of setting up bus routes and class rosters. If you haven't already enrolled your students, please do take a minute to get them enrolled so we can complete our bus routes and rosters. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

JH/HS parents and students: please check Skyward to view your schedules. If you are missing any classes, other than 5th hour, or would like to make any changes, please call or email Mrs. McMichael this week. Your 5th hour classes will be assigned the first day of school.

Fall sports practices will be starting next week. If you haven't already done so, please make sure your physicals are turned into the office.

I would like to remind everyone that enrollment is currently going on and if you have not enrolled your student yet, please do so as soon as possible. Enrollment can be completed either online at USD397.com or come to the school between 8 & 3 and enroll in person. If your student lives out of district, the form needs to be completed and the board of education will need to approve their attendance before they are allowed to attend. This is a yearly obligation for our out of district students. Thank you for your cooperation.
